DESCRIPTION OF TREDI/VESTA THERMAL DESTRUCTION UNITS
Of paramount importance in the design of Tredi/Vesta Thermal Destruction Units is an awareness of, and a determination to achieve a system that operates to the highest environmental and safety standards.
The Vesta TDU is modular, completely mobile, simple and quick to assemble and as flexible in operating specifications as is sensibly possible. Careful design and attention to details ensures that in operation, the unit meets most stringent pollution control standards world-wide.
Use of proven technology, enhanced by careful development, ensures that the rotary kiln at the heart of the operation can handle all types of materials, be they liquids, solids or sludges. All necessary material feed equipment including pumps, conveyors and screw feeders is incorporated within the integrated design. Flexibility is further enhanced with the facility to use a variety of primary fuel sources including natural gas, propane, various fuel oils and oxygen.
The flexibility of the overall design is such that a range of the most hazardous materials, such a PCB's, can be destroyed at the required temperatures and with residence times stipulated in statutory requirements. The units are fully fail-safe and all operating ranges can be pre-set to shut-off the waste feed prior to commencing an automatic shut-down sequence.
A continous record, both timed and dated, of operating parameters is chart recorded by means of a computer and a data logger and the record is available for inspection by regulatory authorities at any time.
The design of the wet scrubbing system ensures that water is recycled where possible to reduce the make-up requirements (Important in remote locations), incorporates a system to remove as high a portion of suspended solids as possible and blows down into ash quench to minimise the quantity of water requiring off-site treatment prior to disposal.
In total the Vesta Thermal Destruction Unit consists of 5 systems with ancillaries incorporated into a series of trailer mounted modules consisting of:
Module 1 - Primary Combustion Unit Module 2 - Secondary Combustion Unit Module 3 - Pollution Control Train Module 4 - Power Distribution & Control Module Module 5 - Water Treatment Unit
On arriving at site, the trailers are towed to their relative positions and connectedx to each other by demountable pipework, ductwork, cables and othe ancillary equipment. |
